Werda Alam, MD, is a member of Summit Health’s Anesthesia team. Dr. Alam pursued a career in health care to give back to her community and help people during difficult times. She specializes in anesthesiology, guiding patients and their families through surgeries comfortably while also meeting perioperative health needs.

Dr. Alam believes in effective communication and collaboration with patients and family members. She ensures everyone receives high-quality medical care. It's important to her that patients are actively involved in their medical care so they can be part of their treatment plan and experience better clinical outcomes. 

Dr. Alam finds joy in providing comfort to patients through challenging experiences. She says, "I enjoy being able to guide patients and it's rewarding to be able to help people during such a critical time in their lives."

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Alam has a passion for crafts. She enjoys knitting and crocheting in her spare time. She is also passionate about Women's Health and advocates for improvements in this area whenever possible.
