Andrea Walter, MD, is a member of Summit Health's Child and Adolescent Psychiatry team. Dr. Walter chose a career in health care because of her deep care for people and their health and happiness. She works with children, adolescents, and families who are struggling with emotional and behavioral symptoms that significantly impact their lives. 

Dr. Walter believes that each person and situation is drastically different. Her approach to patient care is to understand as much as she can about the person and their situation. This allows her to provide the best help possible. 

She says, "It is important to me that my patient and their family feel comfortable. This helps them tell me about how they are impacted by their current issues or struggles. We can then work together to find a way to help." Dr. Walter loves meeting people, hearing their stories, and working as a team to make things better. She believes that by helping improve the life of any one person, there is a positive impact on the greater world. 

Outside of work, Dr. Walter enjoys spending time with her children and family. They love to explore things off the beaten path. She also enjoys running, hiking, playing board games, and cards.
