Kwame Ohemeng, M.D., is a member of Summit Health's Anesthesiology team. He has always been passionate about service and believes that the practice of medicine is a unique calling that allows him to help others when they are most vulnerable due to illness.

Dr. Ohemeng provides anesthesia for both children and adults for a variety of surgical procedures. His philosophy of patient care is to treat patients just like he would want himself or any family member treated. He greets patients with a warm smile and gentle touch, reassuring them that he will take good care of them during their procedure.

"I think it is most important that my patient has a clear understanding of the procedure and what exactly I will be doing for them," Dr. Ohemeng says. "I make sure they have an opportunity to ask questions and that they are answered to their satisfaction. I truly enjoy taking care of patients and believe it is a privilege. As an anesthesiologist, my time with a patient prior to surgery is short so I enjoy building a rapport with them such that they know that they are in good hands."

Outside of work, Dr. Ohemeng loves chess, basketball, and traveling. Most importantly, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three kids. He is also passionate about mentorship, especially for students interested in careers in medicine.
