Xun Sun, APN, is a dedicated member of Summit Health's Adult-Gerontology team. Ms. Sun's work involves conducting comprehensive physical examinations, interpreting diagnostic tests, and formulating accurate diagnoses. She brings in-depth knowledge of medications and manages patient care with a holistic approach.

Ms. Sun sees her role as a nurse practitioner as a bridge between nursing and medicine. She treats every patient as if they were a family member or friend, fostering open communication and building trust. "Understanding the patient’s perspective and tailoring the interaction to patient needs and preferences is most important to me during a visit," she says.

What Ms. Sun enjoys most about her job is the opportunity to educate patients about their health conditions and empower them to actively participate in their healthcare journey. "I appreciate my role, allowing me to adapt my practice to meet the unique needs of my patients," she says.

When she's not caring for patients, Ms. Sun enjoys gardening, dancing, hiking, and traveling. These activities keep her positive and calm-minded. She's also passionate about improving the quality of life for older adults. She advocates for better access to comprehensive, compassionate care that supports aging with dignity. She is particularly committed to causes that address dementia care, chronic disease management, and reducing ageism in healthcare. Supporting both patients and their families through education and resources is something she cares deeply about.
