Alexa Scholly, MPAS, PA-C, is a member of Summit Health’s Hematology/Oncology team. She pursued a career in healthcare because she wanted to help others and make a meaningful impact in people’s lives. Alexa has always been drawn to the idea of providing care and supporting those in need, whether it’s improving a patient's quality of life, helping individuals through difficult times, or contributing to advancements in medical care.

Throughout her career, Alexa has worked with oncology patients. She has served as a hematology/oncology physician assistant with blood cancer patients, including hematopoietic stem cell transplant patients. She has also worked as an infectious disease consultant for all hematology/oncology patients and most recently with the genitourinary oncology patient population.

Alexa's philosophy for patient care is centered on compassion, empathy, respect, and a patient-first approach. She believes in treating every patient as an individual, by actively listening to their concerns, valuing each patient's specific needs, and providing evidence-based care. “When I conduct visits with patients, it is most important to me that patients leave their visits understanding their diagnoses and plans of care. It is also very important to me that all patient's feel like their opinions are heard and that they contribute as much to their plans of care as I do.”

Outside of work, Alexa enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She loves being a physician assistant because she enjoys meeting and learning from her diverse patient population and being able to help patients in need.
