Dr. Schlessinger, a board-certified radiologist, was awarded her medical degree by the SUNY at Stony Brook School of Medicine.  She completed her first year of surgical residency training at Winthrop University Hospital/ SUNY at Stony Brook, where she earned the Outstanding Resident Award. This was followed by a second year of residency in orthopedics, also at SUNY at Stony Brook and a radiology residency at St. Vincent's Medical Center, New York, NY.

She then completed a fellowship in musculoskeletal radiology at the Hospital for Joint Diseases Orthopedic Institute, New York , NY.

Previously, Dr. Schlessinger was a musculoskeletal and diagnostic radiologist with Hartsdale Imaging for 14 years.

She has been the radiologist for several professional sports teams and for many local college sports teams, such as Manhattanville College, and area high school teams.
