Henry Uran Jr, MD, is member of the Summit Health’s Obstetrics & Gynecology and Women’s Health team. Dr. Uran's passion for healthcare was sparked by his upbringing in a Colombian household where treating your neighbor as family was a core value. His mother, a nurse in Colombia, introduced him to the health field early on in life.

Dr. Uran specializes in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery through laparoscopic and robotic approaches. He also offers preconception counseling, contraception discussion, menstrual disorder treatments, prenatal and postnatal care, and more. He believes in creating a nonjudgmental environment where his patients are treated like family members. 

Dr. Uran's top priority during a patient visit is to ensure that the patient feels heard. "They went out of their way from their busy daily schedule to come and see me, and I hope to assist in any way that I can," he says. He enjoys creating a trusting environment for his patients, especially during sensitive times in a woman's life.

When not at work, Dr. Uran enjoys a range of activities. He holds a third-degree black belt in Taekwondo, loves salsa and bachata dancing, and enjoys spending time with friends and family. He is especially passionate about advocating for underrepresented minorities in medicine, mental health, and the humanism of medicine.
