Rubia Fuentes, FNP, is a member of Summit Health’s Internal Medicine team. With experience working in multiple hospitals as a Registered Nurse, she has cared for adults from ages 18 to 100 with various acute and chronic diseases. 

Ms. Fuentes believes in the power of education and guidance in assisting patients on their health journey. She is convinced that the more a patient understands their plan of care, the easier it will be for them to reach their health goals.

"It is important for me to make sure my patient feels heard," she says. "I try to listen and address all of my patient's needs during the visit and perform a thorough assessment in order to develop a plan of care that both the patient and I are satisfied with."

When she's not working, Ms. Fuentes enjoys cooking and spending time with friends and family. She is especially passionate about diabetes awareness and management. "It is a chronic disease that is very prevalent and affects lives immensely. I have seen what complications can lead to in the hospital and am looking forward to working towards prevention and management of diabetes with patients going forward," she says.
