Chris Caruso, PA, is a member of Summit Health’s Urology team. As a child, he always looked up to health care workers, believing that his skills and personality mesh with this career. He also wanted to contribute to making health care more accessible to everyone in his community.

Mr. Caruso has experience treating in-patient infectious diseases. Now, he will be applying this important foundation to help those with urologic problems, including difficulty urinating, frequent urination, kidney stones, prostate issues, and beyond.

“My approach to patient care is to keep his patients educated about their diagnoses, as improved patient understanding leads to good outcomes,” says Mr. Caruso. During a patient visit, he believes it is likewise important to set clear expectations on what can be done to help manage the patient’s primary complaint, as well as ensuring all the patients' needs are met and questions answered.

Being able to improve someone’s daily life is very rewarding to Mr. Caruso, as is developing a provider/patient bond that helps them work better together as a team in treating their illness or disorder.

When not providing health care to patients, Mr. Caruso enjoys going to the gym, watching sporting events, going to the movies, traveling, and playing board games with friends and family. He is also especially passionate about climate change and educating the community about antibiotic resistance and overuse.
