Dr. Bain is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She earned her bachelor of arts from Brown University and was awarded her medical degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington D.C. She completed her residency in internal medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center.

Previously, she practiced internal medicine at James J. Peters VA Medical Center in the Bronx, NY. There she provided general medical care for veterans with a focus on cardiovascular disease, diabetes and women's health. She also served as part-time assistant clinical professor of medicine at Columbia School of Medicine.

Dr. Bain is a member of the American Medical Association and a fellow of the American College of Physicians.
