Rattandeep Ghotra, MD, is a member of Summit Health’s Family Medicine team. Growing up watching her grandfather practice medicine in a rural area inspired her to pursue a career as a physician. She was always in awe of the way he cared for patients despite having access to limited equipment.

Dr. Ghotra’s area of expertise is in family medicine, which allows her to provide and manage care throughout every stage of their life. “I want to ensure that I provide a comprehensive treatment plan for them,” she says. Dr. Ghotra enjoys listening to her patients, performing a comprehensive assessment, and asking for their input and expectations. This allows her to build a plan that is satisfactory to the patient and provides them with satisfying results.

She is an advocate for patient education and evidence-based medicine. Dr. Ghotra feels the most important aspect of a patient's visit is that they leave feeling as though they were heard, understand the treatment plan in place, and are more informed and comforted about their medical problem than when they first walked in the door.

Dr. Ghotra finds joy and fulfillment in her patients’ diversity, whether it be their range of ages or types of medical concerns. She is excited about the uncertainty of what the next visit may entail as well as the constant need to be up to date and learn or revisit old methods of treatment.

When she is not seeing patients in the office, Dr. Ghotra enjoys working out, trying new restaurants and cuisines, attending music concerts, traveling, indulging in self-care routines, and reading self-help books. Her passions extend to expanding and providing good medical care to her own local community, providing medical care or supplies to third-world countries, and participating in blood drives.
