Filipe M. Feiteiro, MS, PA-C is a member of Summit Health's Neurosurgery team. Mr. Feiteiro works alongside neurosurgeons to treat patients with neurological conditions that require surgery. He assists with procedures, reviews diagnostic tests, records medical histories, and performs physical exams.

Born in Portugal and immigrating to New Jersey in 1980, Mr. Feiteiro grew up in South River, New Jersey. He volunteered at his local rescue squad, which sparked his interest in medicine. After completing his physician assistant schooling, he began working at an area medical center as a physician assistant on a general surgery/trauma team to advance his knowledge and surgical skills. In 2005, he joined Robert Wood Johnson Medical School as a faculty member for the Department of Surgery - Division of Neurosurgery, a unique opportunity that allowed him to provide patient care while teaching. “The ability to meaningfully contribute to the educational mission of others brought me great satisfaction and emphasized the importance of being a well-rounded clinician,” says Mr. Feiteiro.

Mr. Feiteiro has participated in numerous lectures, speaking to a wide range of medical staff, including nurses, medical students, and surgery residents. He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.

When he’s not going the extra mile for his patients and their families, he finds time to enjoy sports and outdoor activities.
