Sherry Mathew, PA-C, is a certified physician assistant and member of Summit Health’s Cardiology team. Sherry has always been fascinated by the intricacies of the human body. Her passion for caring for people and partnering with them in their lives led her to become a Physician Assistant. 

Sherry specializes in preventive medicine and cardiology. She primarily treats adults with common outpatient cardiac issues like hypertension, hyperlipidemia, arrhythmias, and coronary artery disease. She is dedicated to prevention, emphasizing the importance of lifestyle changes such as nutrition, exercise, and medication interventions. 

Sherry believes in a holistic approach to patient care. "It's not just about diagnosing and treating with medication; it's about delving into every aspect of a patient's life, from nutrition to exercise to stress management, to prevent further illness," she explains. During patient consultations, Sherry aims to provide education, enabling patients to fully understand their health conditions. 

When she is not helping patients, Sherry enjoys reading, especially thrillers and mysteries. She loves spending time with her Goldendoodle, going on walks, and spending time with friends and family. Sherry is passionate about building connections with people and helping them physically, emotionally, and spiritually. She leads a Bible study that helps people in the emotional and spiritual areas of their lives.
