Alyssa Matthews PT, DPT, CLT, is a member of the Summit Health Physical Therapy team. Dr. Matthews was drawn to the physical therapy field after experiencing an injury in high school. She was able to rehabilitate with physical therapy and get back to her normal life, pain free, and without surgery. Now, she enjoys being on the other side of the table, assisting her patients resume their lives after injury.

Dr. Matthews treats a variety of conditions including orthopedic injuries, post-operative healing, neurological injury, vestibular dysfunction, oncology history, lymphedema, and concussion. Her passion is oncology rehabilitation, working with patients along any point of their journey. She believes in empowering her clients to take control of their treatments by educating them on their own health, navigating the health care system, and preventing future injury.

During a patient visit, Dr. Matthews enjoys creating customized care plans based on each persons individualized needs, goals, and lifestyle. When asked about work, she says, "I have one of the greatest jobs - I get to spend my days helping people get better and get back to the things they love!"

When not at work, you’ll find her playing outside with her kids and dogs. She also enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, and crafting. Dr. Matthews has been involved as a medical volunteer at events including the Boston Marathon, US Figure Skating Championships, and Head of the Charles Regatta. She is a frequent blood donor and has organized two successful blood drives in her community.
